During our latest fundraising and launch, I have noticed a tremendous shift in the effectiveness of cold emailing advisors and VC's.
Before, you used to be able to stand out with an exceptionally crafted cold email that, with a bit of luck, would cut through the noise and generate a follow-up meeting.
Now, AI is being used to generate perfect cold emails which seems to be doing 2 main things:
1. VC's are getting flooded with thousands of emails from projects that have no business even contacting VC's because the process is now so easy.
2. Subject lines and emails all look exceptional and intriguing now and the days of standing out from the crowd are replaced with a white noise of AI shyte.
It appears that this is resulting in less open rates, higher competition, and is turning into a process that is so flooded with AI that VC's are essentially turning their blinders on and instantly placing cold emails in the spam category.
This makes sense, but what does it mean for the industry?
Are warm introductions the only way forward?
