Pepe variations seem to either plummet into the abyss or rocket through the stratosphere.
Pepe Unchained was a presale running 6 months.
Their utility was a layer 2 on Solana.
They raised $80m.
Wallstreet Pepe was a presale running 4 months.
Their utility was a private alpha telegram group.
They raised $70m.
These aren't crazy utilities, so what is the reason they raised so much in presale?
I'd love to hear your thoughts but here's my best guess on their strategy.
Youtubers. PR. Ads.
This seems to be all they do in their campaigns.
One thing I've noticed is their PR actually embeds the KOL YouTube Vid in it. Perhaps this is a golden key to conversions? They also audit, have an "as seen in" section in the landing page(linking to PR), and they offered higher than average staking rewards, between 100% and 360% APY.
This strategy alone could probably raise $10m but $80m in a sideways/down market seems pretty wild.
My fellow founders, what are your thoughts on this?
Is there anything you see differently?
